Places to stay on Bornholm

From a cottage in the dunes to a guesthouse in the harbour town — Bornholm has a bed for every travel style. We don't sell anything ourselves; we show you the map, the regions, and what to know before you book.

Where to stay

Four regions, four ways to stay

Choosing the region shapes your holiday more than choosing the accommodation itself.

  • 01

    Rønne & the harbour

Central, short distance to the ferry, good bus connections — ideal for your first or last night, or if you're travelling without a car.

  • 02

    Gudhjem & the north coast

Fishing-village charm, close to Hammershus and the round-church route — popular with repeat visitors.

  • 03

    Dueodde & the south

Cottages in the dunes, the finest sandy beach — the top pick for families.

  • 04

    The countryside

Quiet farms and cottages away from the coast — ideal for cyclists and anyone seeking distance from it all.

Good to know

Before you book

  • 1

    Best time to book

Popular cottages in high season (July/August) are often fully booked by winter — the earlier you book, the wider the choice.

  • 2

    Cottage or hotel

Cottages dominate the market and suit families and longer stays; hotels and guesthouses cluster in Rønne and the larger towns.

  • 3

    Travelling without a car

Without a vehicle, stay in Rønne or along a main bus route — the dense cycling network also makes car-free exploring easy.

  • 4

    Use the shoulder season

May, June and September often bring better prices with still-good weather — and noticeably fewer crowds.
